ABOUT
VINTAGE GOA MEMORIES
Vintage Goa Memories is an independent visual archive founded by Nasya Pereira in 2018.
An artist and musician born and raised in Goa, Nasya’s work is shaped by a deep personal connection to place, memory, and the changing identity of the region. What began as a quiet exploration of old photographs has grown into a dedicated practice of collecting, curating, and preserving visual fragments of Goa’s past.
The archive brings together rare images and films spanning the early 1900s to the 2000s.
Sourced from family collections, independent photographers, and contributions from across the world.
Rather than approaching Goa through a purely historical or academic lens, the archive exists as
an emotional record — capturing the textures of everyday life, fleeting moments, and the cultural shifts that have shaped the region over time.
Each image is selected with attention to context, authorship, and feeling. Many of the photographs featured have never been publicly seen before, shared through personal archives and preserved
with permission and care.
Vintage Goa Memories has since grown into a shared space, reconnecting people with places, memories, and versions of Goa that no longer exist, but continue to live on through collective memory.
A digital home for remembering, and preserving — Goa, as it once was.
